Why is it still important for the US? Iraq? Geostrategy and energy in the 21st century
Abstract
This paper seeks to make a diagnosis of the U.S. military intervention in Iraq since 2003. In the first section reconstructs the historic and political context under George W. Bush administration. In the second part, the power geopolitics is analyzed according to the importance of the energy resources located in Middle East, specifically in Iraq. Then, American strategy in the region is studied through history. Finally, it¿s explained why the reconstruction of the country has failed, not so the appropriation and exploitation of the energy resources of the country.Downloads
