Abstract

In the hydrologic studies that are made in Colombia, the evaluation of the highest precipitation level is made with the methodology that is considered the most convenient in the context of a specific hydraulic project. This project reflects a preliminary analysis ff the highest levels of precipitation in 24 hours using the information provided by the IDEAM to this respecto. In its application the theory of extreme values Gumbel Type III was used, by using the denominated factors of frequency in its statistical presentation, for 518 stations with registers of pluvial type. This document only aims to reach the interested ones in this topic; for this reason, special importance has been given to the methodological aspects. In addition the obtained results are presented as guidelines only.
