Affectation of the conurbation processes in territorial planning and environmental services supply. Case study: Bogota D.C. – Mosquera
Abstract
This research aims to identify the impact of conurbation processes in territorial planning and environmental services generated within the municipal border between Bogotá City and the Municipality of Mosquera based on data sets analysis during last 20 years in order to generate the spatiotemporal characterization of ecosystem resources, precipitation, temperature, land use and socio-economic status, experienced currently by that area. Furthermore, mapping and satellite imagery of the area were observed in order to approach such an urban growth trend in Bogotá and Mosquera. In this regard, the study showed that conurbation processes evidenced in the municipal border are mainly due to changes in land use generated in recent decades and a relevant site in high-risk areas of low-income people, which indicates that Bosa, Kennedy and Fontibon are experiencing a progressive soil deficiency. This resource demand and socioeconomic dynamics are causing that Bogota city will take over Mosquera in 2018. Finally, regarding the spatial evolution of the population on the territory it´s possible to aver this distribution for Bogota area has an anisotropic behavior which establishes a spatial dependence structure.Downloads
