La teoría de la evolución desde una perspectiva filosófica
Abstract
Even before modernity, the man has tried to explain the world and its phenomena through science. In this task, any other possible explanation has been disqualified and condemned to magic, superstition, ignorance and ingeniousness. Yet... Has this explanation been correct and sufficient? The excessive cult to the rationl faculty made science to lose perspective and to forget that reason is the only one possible way to see and express an infinite world inhebited by a complex being: the man. If it is true -although questionable- that science has helped to improve the quality of life, it is also true -no doubt about it- that life and its explanation cannot be reduced to science. The philosophic reflection around subjects considered as exclusively scientific, will add a broader and richer vision of these subjects. If the goal of science is to solve the problems of life, the goal of philosophy is to give sense and value to that life by opening to new horizons, respecting differences, and conciliating the existent perspectives.
