¿Qué determina el desempeño académico de los estudiantes de economía? el caso de la Universidad Militar "Nueva Granada" - UMNG
Abstract
This paper analyzes whether there is any evidence about the impact of inherent factors on a student’s academic performance. Through the Analysis of Covariance (ANCOVA), it was determined that putting off one or several semesters had a negative effect in the case of Economics students in the second semester of 2005. This also has a more negative effect if they are financed by a company rather than through a bank loan. On the other hand, the National Exams results and the fulfillment of goals regarding their career are directly related to their performance. Finally, bachelors show a higher performance within the group of motivated students.
