¿Is Suitable the ISO 14000 in the Colombian Context?: An Approach from Analysis of Cases
Abstract
The present document presents the final results of the investigation of a research that in their development integrated three methodologies of investigation, interpretive analysis of sources on organization and business in light of the concept of “tecnorregión” (Ariza, Gomez & León, 2006); the construction and interpretation of a base data on that explain the diffusion process of the environmental management system ISO 14001 (Ariza, Gomez & León, 2007), and finally, an analysis of three cases of Colombian enterprises. The document concludes that diverse levels of cultural assimilation and predisposition organizational can exist in the cases studied. For this reason, the ISO 14001 isn’t convenient for all types organization, particularly, can be constituted in a strong barrier of entrance to the international markets for the Colombian businesses.
