The research on philosophical anthropology in Colombia: findings and reflections

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to show the results of the research project of Philosophia Personae group in relation to the problematic situation of the research on Philosophical Anthropology in Colombia. The problematic phenomenon first appears when observing the small number of groups specifically devoted to the study of Philosophical Anthropology in our country. Secondly, given the difficulty of not finding a significant number of research projects on this area, the question understand what the study object is or what is understood under the denomination of Philosophical Anthropology. This, in order to understand the theoretical reasons driving this difficulty. The methodology of documentary revision was instrumental for this exercise which culminated its first year`s work. Finally, an opportunity, or an interpretative horizon, is proposed for reflections on philosophical anthropology, addressing the general lines, objectives, methods and scope of personalism and personalist philosophy, which can be understood as the anthropological dimension which incorporates essential postulates of anthropological research today.
