From territorial sustainability to environmental solidarity: changing the utility into meaning
Abstract
This article looks into the current concept of development and shows how it is based in the idea of utility as its dominant paradigm in the ecological, economical and social fields. Instead, the authors propose the concept of solidarity based on the concept of “meaning”, as without denying the utility of the economic, ecological and social relationships, constitutes the base of a more human development, In order to do so, this article proposes a model based on seven principles whose interaction is analyzed. Four of these are transversal: Participation, education, wonder and respect, and three are relational: sustainability, solidarity and subsidiarityDownloads
